It is so wonderful to see the recreation trail almost complete. What a great addition to Twin Lakes. I see many people, even from out of town, enjoying it daily. A huge thank you to Mildred Peterson and her late husband Chuck for having the dream. You are truly great people. This trail will be used for many years to come. Thank You!!

There have been some studies done about the effectiveness of Methyl Anthranilate when sprayed in/on the areas that the geese tend to leave their droppings and/or feed. Basically the geese must taste the treated grass in order for the product to work because Methyl Anthranilate repels the geese based on the taste of the grass. If the geese don’t like to much on your lawn because it now tastes bad to them, they won’t come back. New geese may, but that can be solved by another application. There’s a lot of information on the web about this product, you can check it out and see what you think. Just ‘google’ “Methyl Anthranilate goose repellent” Prices for the goose-repellent run from $30 for a container that would treat 1,000 square feet, to upwards of $100. I make no guarantees of course, but it is a safe, gentle, non-confrontational option. Hopefully they haven’t actually nested in your yard. That can complicate things. I hope this helped a little! I would probably double check with the DNR just to make sure that this would be an acceptable method of repelling the birds since there are many endangered species of geese. Happy barefooting!

We seem to attract geese and while they are fun to watch we also like to go barefoot. Does anyone have suggestions for gently keeping them out?
