Any residents that are planning new construction, remodeling, paving, or extensive landscaping, please contact, or have your contractor, contact Twin Lakes Utilities before beginning your project. He will discuss:
• requirements to make sure all shutoffs are made readily accessible, located outside any structures and above ground surface or in an approved casing.
• upgrading your grinder control box to accept 240v. grinder pumps. Expenses to the homeowner for the upgrade would include the control box which is currently $324, $2.70 per foot of cable and an electrician to connect 240v. to house and to bury the line to control box. . The needed cable depends on distance box is from grinder.
PLEASE NOTE: This control box will still accept 120v pumps so your pump will not be changed to 240v until the need arises or your pump fails. Grinder pumps are still and will continue to be replaced free of charge to residents, unless damaged due to foreign objects. See enclosed sheet for Grinder Tub Care.
• insuring meter remote reader is at least 36” above ground level on new construction or remodel.
• White PVC pipe that comes out of your grinder needs to be kept in place. If it is damaged or removed, our maintenance crew will replace it but you will be responsible for payment of all associated costs.
