Friends of the Twin Lakes Trail
The multi-use trail has been divided into seven sections so it is easier to identify areas. There are captains for each section who work with the residents along their section and work with the Twin Lakes Trail Board for larger work projects or problems.
The following list identifies each tentative section and its captains:
Sunrise Mile
Captains: Sally Hart-Mueller, Michel Swanson, Rita DeWall
Location: NE corner of N Twin Lake at intersection of N Twin Lakes Road & Pella Avenue south to intersection of N Twin Lakes Road and 210 St. (gravel road)
Status: Trail completed.
Trail of Dreams
Captains: Elmer & Jean Prescott, Sarah Reed, Sharon Helgeland
Location: Intersection of N Twin Lakes Road and 210th St. (gravel road) to where the trail crosses 220th St. south of Twin Lakes Steaks
Status: Trail completed only from N end of big State Park to 220th St.
Lookout Ridge or Trail
Captains: Ted & Jan George, Greg Dressen
Location: All of paved trail south of 220th St.
Status: Trail not completed, residents included in this section are west of Twin Lakes Grocery & Grill to boat ramp across from Marina.
Sunset Trace
Captains: Sue Sebby, Wade Lookingbill, and Joan Ramthun
Location: South end of W Twin Lakes Road north including Kip Anderson memorial and all paved trail west of W Twin Lakes Road
Status: Trail completed, residents included in this section live north of boat ramp across from Marina to West State Park.
TLCC Run
Captains: Dean & Jean Black, Rick & Laurie Kasperbauer, Jo Hinrichs
Location: All of trail on Twin Lakes Christian Center property
Status: Trail completed, residents included in this section live north of the West State Park to Gutz Prairie.
North Rim
Captains :Keith & Bobbee Lindstrom, Frank & Margery Kohn
Location: Gutz Prairie and Featherstone Park to intersection N. Twin Lakes Road and N57 (Pella Ave)
Status: Trail completed.
South Lake
Captain: Marty Rickard
Location: Gravel road along South Twin Lakes
Get Involved
Captains are collecting information from residents such as e-mail addresses, phone numbers and cell phone numbers. This information will be used only by Bike Trail captains or Board members. If residents use e-mail frequently, it would be much easier for us to notify you of any Bike Trail happenings.
